01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Outback Steakhouse at 200 Colonial Dr, Horseheads, NY, masterfully blends the hearty richness of American steakhouse favorites with a lively Australian-inspired flair. Known for its inviting bar & grill atmosphere, this restaurant offers a casual yet spirited dining experience where guests can indulge in bold flavors and generous portions that celebrate the best of both worlds.

The menu is a delightful journey through classic comfort dishes elevated by thoughtful touches. Begin your meal with the iconic Down Under Trio, featuring the legendary Bloomin’ Onion® petals—crisp, golden, and paired with their signature spicy bloom sauce, alongside Fried Mozzarella Bloomerangs dipped in marinara, and Aussie Cheese Fries served with rich housemade ranch. These starters set a vivid tone with their satisfying textures and bold tastes.

For main courses, the variety caters beautifully to seafood and steak lovers alike. The Seared Peppered Ahi steals the show with its rare, delicate slices seasoned to perfection and served on a bed of crisp lettuce, cabbage, and noodles, complemented by a creamy soy ginger sauce and wasabi that spark the palate. Seafood aficionados also enjoy the Toowoomba Salmon, where tender grilled salmon is crowned by juicy shrimp in a luxurious creole sauce, a perfect harmony of land and sea flavors.

The hearty options continue with the crowd-pleasing Alice Springs Chicken® Quesadilla—grilled chicken breast and sautéed mushrooms mingling with crisp bacon and melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, all wrapped in a golden tortilla that’s crispy to the bite. This dish balances smoky, savory, and creamy notes with a honey mustard drizzle that ties it together beautifully.

Salad lovers will find the Fresh Sydney Salad a vibrant choice, combining mixed greens, peppery arugula, crunchy pepitas, and blue cheese crumbles, customizable with your choice of protein—grilled chicken, fried chicken, sirloin, or salmon—to satisfy a lighter appetite without compromising on flavor.

The atmosphere at Outback Steakhouse Horseheads echoes a warm, festive vibe, especially noted during holiday seasons when staff dress in cheerful attire and even host experiences like Santa visits, adding a delightful community touch to your dining. Guests commonly praise the attentive and prompt service, highlighting the friendly and efficient staff as a key part of their enjoyable evenings.

Regulars rave about the value-packed three-course meal specials, which allow diners to sample a variety of favorites and finish with indulgent desserts like creamy cheesecakes, perfect for those who love to linger over a sweet finish. We were shopping on the Sunday before Christmas. First off all, I think everyone forgot about Outback because other places had a line because they were next to the stores. OutbCk had a zero wait time. All the staff were dressed in holiday cheer. They had a flipping Santa to take pictures with as well! Our waitress was amazing, very promt and on top of our drinks. We got the mozzarella boomerangs. Let me tell you i am still dreaming about them. They came out hot and fresh, they were crispy without being heavy or full of oil. And oh. My. God. The cheese pull on them! This one in the video was the last on our plate. Notice how it isnt a hard brick? Because its made with really good quality cheese. They were amazing. Our steaks were good as well, but im coming back for those mozzarella sticks! (And another perfect ribeye of course)

Went here with my girlfriend for date night and we both had awesome food and service. We did the $15 3 coarse meal and were totally stuffed. We had to take the cheesecakes home! If they keep the deal, we will definitely be back

The 3 course special is worth it. Everything tasted great. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I think the service was friendly, but because they take a team approach, it felt like they were waiting for each other to attend to things. Also, the music was a little loud. Overall it was good. The quality of the food was the highlight.

Outback Steakhouse - Horseheads, NY: A Casual Bite with a Twist We stopped by Outback Steakhouse in Horseheads, NY for a laid-back dinner and went with their 3-course menu featuring the Bloomin’ Burger, baked potato soup, and a side salad. Alongside the burger, we added the Parmesan Chicken Bites, which were served as part of the main course, not as an appetizer. The meal began with their signature honey wheat bread, warm and comforting—an Outback classic that never disappoints. The baked potato soup came next, rich and creamy, topped with cheddar, bacon, and scallions. Though the photo turned out a bit blurry, the flavors were all there—hearty and satisfying. The side salad was crisp and fresh, offering a refreshing balance to the rest of the meal. When the Bloomin’ Burger finally arrived—after about a 30-minute wait—it made a statement. Topped with crispy blooming onion petals and melted cheese, it was juicy and flavorful. It was served with a generous helping of Parmesan Chicken Bites, golden and crispy with a shower of shredded cheese and green onions (see photo). However, the chicken was a bit too salty for my taste, though others might enjoy the bold seasoning. Despite the delay, the staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel relaxed. If you’re in the area and craving something hearty with a bit of flair, this is a solid spot to check out. Service: 4.2 / 5 • Friendly and attentive staff • A bit of a wait for the main course (30 minutes), but service remained professional Ambiance: 4.0 / 5 • Warm, casual, and family-friendly environment • Comfortable seating and classic Outback vibes

Did a to go order. Car side pickup. Haven’t been here in about 4 years. Last time I came it was not good. Got a gift card so I figured it’s worth a try. It was amazing! So surprised! The steak was cooked perfect. The shrimp was cooked perfect. They had it all separated in the container and the sauces in cups so it wouldn’t get all soggy. And it was on time. I don’t if you guys are under new management or what but keep it up!! So much better than roadhouse!

I haven't been to an Outback in a while, and this definitely renewed my interest in this restaurant chain. Their Tasmanian chili, which had no beans, contained steak pieces and was definitely worth the price. It was delicious! Their Strawberry salad was also a great entree with tons of flavor. The maple glazed porkchops was super tender and delicious. Our server was great and made sure our order got out as fast as possible considering the restaurant was packed.

Very good food and attentive server. See pictures. The asparagus was tasty but a bit too soft. The place was packed on Saturday night. We called to make a reservation but we couldn't get through as it was constantly engaged - they accommodated us pretty quickly though. Good experience overall.
